A public hearing session was conducted during the review meeting of the various Administrative Departments in the city, which was called today at the Zila Parishad auditorium.
While Gulabchand Kataria Chaired the meeting, the Additional District Magistrate (City) Yaseen Pathan chaired the public hearing bench.
Among the various problems heard, the major ones were concerning land related matters, especially where the UIT has issued Title Deeds (Pattas) during the Prashan Sehron Ke Sang and Prashasan Gaon Ke Sang sessions conducted during the last year.
The major problems were noted in Badgaon, Neemuchkheda and Dewali areas, where people holding the Title Deeds expressed their angst. As per the complainants, the land for which UIT had given the title deeds are occupied by some highly placed and influential people, and the holders of the Title Deeds were not being given access to the land. The UIT is also not lending any helping hand in the matter, as per the complainants.
Another complaint related to a Hotel being constructed on Udaisagar Lake. The builder is a highly influential person and he has allegedly illegally occupied the land around the hotel for his own work. The builder has also constructed a pathway across the lake for access to his hotel, which is again illegal. This is against the procedure and allowance of the No Construction Zone regulations on banks of lakes.
People residing in colonies which are in low lying areas, have complained that there is extreme water clogging during the rainy season as there is no proper drainage and the dirty water enter houses, causing hygiene and daily issue problems. As per the residents, they had already warned the municipality during the road construction that such a problem would arise, but no one really looked into the matter.
The functioning of schools, colleges and commercial occupation in residential areas is also causing a daily hazard to residents of such colonies, as the parking and continuous movement of people and vehicles in and out of such colonies is disrupting the peace. The people have appealed to the Police administration to look into this immediately.
A lot of other problems related to the Education Department, Veterinary Hospital, MB Hospital, Public Works Department, Lake Conservation Department and Electricity Department were raised and the complaints were heard and noted down.
Gulabchand Kataria, the Chairperson, concluded the public hearing session and instructed the relevant departments to solve these problems in the coming month, before the next all department review meeting.
