Internet Services to be affected in Udaipur for 24hrs following Ayodhya decision
Internet services for all lines except lease lines will be affected on 9-10 November at Udaipur

As per instructions recieved from the Divisional Commissioners Office in Udaipur, Internet services will be terminated across the division, in order to maintain law and order in the Udaipur division.

Addressing a request from the Collectors office made on 8 November - to terminate internet services across the jurisdiction area.  This request was made considering the chances of anti social elements spreading unwarranted messages over social media following the Ayodhya ruling by the Supreme Court that happened at 1030hrs today.  Due to these unruly elements spreading false information and rumour, the situation of law and order could go out of hand and petty altercations may fuel religious sentiments, causing far spread reactions.

Accordingly, the Divisional Commissioner Vikas Bhale, taking into cogniscance the request and the affirmative reccomendations in support of the request has given instructions across to all ISPs in the area to terminate their internet service with immediate effect, for a period of 24hrs.  This downtime is expected to affect all local ISPs with the exception of lease line services. However for most part of the day ISP lines were suspended, while the other network providers on 3G and 4G suspended services for part of the day.  Jio is active in some parts of the city.
