Udaipur Lady patrol team had 22 ladies as staff, the number of which has reduced to 14. The department has added 10 female police constables to this team to complete the team.

The lady patrol team went short of staff as some of them went on long leave and some could not continue due to certain unavoidable reasons. Now the department has added 10 constables and this additional team will be imparted with special training to deal with the situations just like the rest of the team.

The female constables were seen on duty on Friday with the other patrolling team but were in their police uniform. Lady patrol team has special uniform and are equipped with a modified bike. The new team after getting their training will become a part of the permanent team. As of now they are not trained to function as the Lady patrol team individually in the absence of special training.

It maybe noted that the Lady patrol team was started by the former CM Vasundhara Raje. The team is  equipped with glock pistol in their uniforms which was prepared in Ahmedabad. The training comprises of a 4-hour bike riding practice, yoga for physical and mental fitness, martial arts, meditation, aerobics, swimming and gym schedules. They are also trained in the art of controlling the mob, giving first-aid to the injured etc. The bikes of the team have blinker light, hooter and PAS.
