After a scrutiny by the high level committee on the instructions of Rajasthan high court, the real facts behind the existing vatikas were revealed. The vatikas which hadn’t followed rules were issued notices.
Six vatikas which hadn’t followed rules of registration for the purpose of marriage vatikas are now undergoing a cancellation. Apart from these, 11 other vatikas have also been issued notices. Meanwhile, licenses have been renewed for 22 vatikas which followed procedures and presented reports for the same.
The corporation has also warned that penalty will be taken from all those whose vatikas are illegal and they may also be seized. Pava Vihar vatika of Ahinsapuri has requested for a close down of their vatika.
Commissioner Siddharth Sihag has appealed to the citizens to verify the legality of a vatika before booking it for weddings or any other private parties or celebrations. The wedding card printers have been asked to verify the license of the venue before they go ahead with the printing. Action will be taken against the printers if they do not follow rules of verification. Penalty amount has been raised from 10 thousand to 50 thousand in the board meeting held for the legality of vatikas.
There are 54 vatikas in the city. Out of these, 40 hadn’t followed legal procedures, 14 have been marked as appropriate. 25 followed rules later for which their licenses were renewed and 6 were cancelled. 1 was closed down by the owner, 8 have been issued notices and 1.40 lakh rupees have been taken as penalty.
