Messy state of Udaipur: Will UIT/UMC please speak up?
This is our open request to the Udaipur administration to kindly keep the citizens' informed about the plan to improve the state of affairs in the city.

I am sure that the roads have been dug up for a reason – on the face of it, it looks like the sewage lines are being spruced up for taking care of future needs. Good. But when can the city expect things to be back on normal track? More than half the city roads have been dug (that too, right through the middle!!). Is there anything holding you back from repairing the same? When can we expect the pain to subside? Was there a need to dig up the entire city OR could you have dug up parts, completed work there, repaired the road and moved to the next stage?
I do not hold any grudge. My only request is for you to keep the city informed. From whatever I have read about the Smart City plans, the plan then would be to dig up pretty much all the stuff in the walled city area, take the cables underground, lay ducts etc. If the current state is anything to go by, one does not even want to imagine what the state of affairs will be when the Smart city preparations start unraveling.
A lot of frustration emerges from lack of communication. The citizens would really appreciate if someone from the administration can kindly stand-up and explain the rationale and the timelines for implementation.
While Lakhs get spent on wishing a local/regional/national business leader on their birthdays and welcome to Udaipur, some money might be well spent on keeping the citizens informed.
