Public throngs in everyday to watch the overflow, even captures the beauty to share with friends. This Sunday, the lake overflew amidst dark as Municipal Corporation removed the colourful lights that highlight the water making it more beautiful. Thousands of people returned home in disappointment.

As per Municipal Corporation, Fatehsagar is the responsibility of UIT. Lighting up the area is also UIT’s responsibility. Municipal Corporation makes arrangements for throwing colourful lights on water every year. On Sunday, heavy crowd had gathered up at the lake to watch the beauty of overflowing lake. Since there was no visibility in the absence of lights, the crowd returned feeling sad at the dark look of the area. UIT was informed who later made arrangements and placed 7 lights at the overflow venue. On Monday, tourists could enjoy a beautiful view with the colourful lights.

This was the first time ever when Municipal Corporation removed the lights from the lake at the time of overflow. Mahesh Trivedi, President of Light arrangement committee of the municipal corporation said that Fatehsagar is UIT’s property, so UIT is supposed to make arrangements for lights. A discussion has already taken place between UIT and Corporation. On the other hand, UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali says that Corporation should have informed them before removing the lights. Public should not be made to face such disappointments. Corporation should think on a wider aspect when it comes to facing such issues. Had the corporation informed UIT earlier that they were about to remove lights, UIT would have taken care of this issue on time. Shrimali said that lighting arrangements were made as soon as they got the information about Fatehsagar overflowing in dark.
