No cranes were available to tow away vehicles from the no-parking zone. Traffic police collected a lot of amount as fine from the public on Diwali.

Traffic police were seen running around for cranes required for lifting vehicles from the no-parking zone during Diwali festival. Since no crane was available, they simply took fine money from the vehicle owners and made around 281 challans in 6 days. It has been reported that more than 50000 rupees were collected as parking fine.

Traffic police had a tough time without the crane. They had to manage with simply cutting off fine receipts. In the process the amount collected went beyond 50 thousand rupees. With the increasing traffic in the market during the festival, the entire parking system got disturbed. Markets were lined up with vehicles and traffic jams slowed down the pace to a great extent.

Crane operators were not available since they were also availing the festive vacation. Hence getting a crane for towing the vehicles was an impossible task. Going forward, traffic police have decided to cancel the contracts of the crane owners. TI Bhaiyalal said that letters have been issued to the contractors for cancellation of their contracts.
