The Right to Hearing Bill-2012 will be implemented in Rajasthan, making it the first state in India to promote beneficial schemes of the Government and to catalyze the process of complaint redressal by government officials.

“To be under implementation from 1st Aug, 2012, the Bill is directed towards providing better drinking water, electricity and schemes to the masses. The government officials would also be under pressure to redress the complaints logged by individuals, as else they will face monetary fines”, informed Dr. Subodh Agrawal, Divisional Commissioner, while he was speaking in a 1-day workshop on Right to Hearing Bill-2012 at the Seminar Hall of the R.N.T. Medical College.

He added, “The government officials should take this seriously and act as needed. Starting from Patwari and Gram-Sewak for Gram-Panchayat; Tehsildar and Block Development Officer for Tehsil; Divisonal Offisor for Divisons and others have been appointed for the same. The appeals and complaints registered earlier would not be counted in this bill”.

As informed by Dr. Agrawal, on the district level – Additional District Collector, Additional District Judge, Chief Officer of Zila Parishad, Commisoner of Udaipur Municipal Council and Officers related to Divisional Commisoner on Divisonal level have been appointed on the post of Lok Sunvai Adhikari.

A Lok Sunvai Adhikari will register the complaint, issue a receipt and will solve the complaint in a given timeframe (as per mentioned in the receipt).
