Rajni Dangi Chairperson of Municipal Council was seen in an aggressive mood today, when she called media personnel of the city and clarified the allegations put by the leaders of opposition Dinesh Shrimali, with Mohammad Ayub Lohar and Kailash Sahu for corruption in purchasing handcarts and allotting Vatika license.

Hand Carts or Wheel Burrows were purchased by the Municipal Council, the opposition earlier complained to the Commissioner of Council, Satya Narayan Acharya for the alleged corruption in the purchase of carts, opposition claimed, the carts purchased are of low quality and of low weight.

On the charges of corruption in purchase of carts, Dangi said, “Let me make it clear that 400 hand carts of weight not less than 45kg were ordered through DGS&D (Director General of Supplies and Disposal), Govt. of India, by Jain Traders, Ambala Cantt”.

She then, took out 5 random hand carts as sample and weighed them before media, Health Committee officials of MCU, and some councilors and there weights were measured.

Dangi said that no cart was measured less than 45 kgs and I challenge the persons who put allegations on me for corruption to come and check any of the purchased hand carts.

Further, on the issue of license to operate Vatikas at Champabagh, Rajni said, “We have given permission to operate vatikas according to the rules of the Municipal Council, which says that Vatikas of more than 20,000 sq. ft. needs a road not less than 40 ft. to enter, and adequate space for parking. The road shown to us by Taya’s were according to the rules and that’s why we gave permission.

She said, “Whether the land belongs to the owner or not is not a matter of our jurisdiction, we give permission to operate the vatikas according to the rules, even a contractor can take a license and operate the vatika”.

“Issue of Champabagh is between the owners of the Vatikas and the University, we have nothing to do in it”, said Rajni Dangi.

Rajni Dangi said, “Every day, on some or the other issue opposition is trying to defame me by putting allegations on me and I will not tolerate this anymore”. She further said, “People of Udaipur know that how much work I have done for the development of the city and I am still doing it”.
