Udaipur Municipal corporation has started work on broadening of road from Shastri Circle to Ayad bridge. The road on left side while going from Shastri Circle is set to be widened by about 7 feet.

Currently the road from Shastri Circle towards Ayad is about 30 feet wide whereas the side of the road while coming from Ayad to Shastri Circle is 50 feet wide. The slightly narrow road while going from Shastri Circle towards Ayad results in a traffic jam condition a lot of times. It is to take care of this problem that the road is being widened.

For widening the road, the drainage line constructed on the side will be shifted near the building line. Also the walkway constructed on side of the road will be reconstructed in an organised manner resulting in release of space. This additional space will allow for road widening of about 7 feet.

While carrying out the walkway renovation work, the paver blocks that are currently in place will be taken off and the same will be reused in the new construction resulting in substantial saving of cost. Reuse of these paver blocks is one of the mandatory conditions in the tender order.
