Udaipur is moving smartly on the Smart City project implementation. It has been ranked as the fifth best in the country in terms of implementation after Nagpur, Indore, Surat and Vadodara.

All the top-5 cities have achieved an Investment Conversion Ratio (ICR) of over 90% ahead of completion of two years of the smart city mission in June.

ICR measures the percentage of funds that are currently under use at ground level for project implementation as against the funds that were approved by the Centre.

A total of 60 smart cities have been approved by Urban Development Ministry of which 20 cities were announced in January last year, 13 in May and 27 in September.

Udaipur, Indore and Surat were announced in the first lot of smart cities whereas Nagpur and Vadodara were announced in September.
