UIT comes into action again, demolishes illegal constructions

On Sunday, UIT came into action again by demolishing illegal possessions from 8 acres of land on Debari station road. The market value estimated for this area is almost 3 ½ crores. Illegal construction like boundary wall and houses were built on Debari station road in the revenue village of Rebariyon ki dhani in Mavli tehsil.

The people who occupied this land were mostly the ones who collected scrap from vehicles and sold them for their living. UIT on receiving a complaint had issued a notice on 26th February asking to vacate the land within 24 hours.

Since this was not heard of, UIT secretary Ramnivas Mehta reached the site with his team and ran JCB to demolish the 5 illegally built houses and boundary wall as well. The people present protested which was dealt strictly by UIT.

Province officer Goverdhan Singh Jhala said that among the people who were asked to vacate the land were 6 gadoliya lohar families who were later given area in Biliya Avas Project and resettled. The belongings of these families were sent to them in a tractor.
