Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) came back into action after a long election break and moved encroachers from five localities across town. It included Hiran Magri Sector 4&5, Reti Stand, Goverdhan Villas and Chand Pol, where masses had illegally acquired government land.

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) came back into action after a long election break and moved encroachers from five localities across town. It included Hiran Magri Sector 4&5, Reti Stand, Goverdhan Villas and Chand Pol, where masses had illegally acquired government land.

The action was successfully implemented over all the localities, except that of Chand Pol where a businessman retaliated on vacating government land. Moreover, he started throwing stones on anti encroachment squad.

According to Durgesh Sharma, President, Revenue Committee UMC, “The squad reached Chand Pol to move encroacher Manohar Kumawat, who had established horse business on the land. But a group of people attacked the squad and tossed stones.”

Sharma added that an FIR has been filed at Ghantaghar Police Station. Further action will be implemented in assistance of Police officials.

In Sector 4, 5 and Reti Stand (Sect 9) number of kiosks were established illegally without any prior permission, which were removed from the location and were notified for not creating such nuance in future. A similar action was taken at Goverdhan Villas, in which a fragile kiosk was removed.
