Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) would be spending Rs.100 Cr on cleaning and development of Ayad River. The amount was sanctioned in a Board Meeting held few weeks back. Tender for cleaning the river and making it pollution free will be released shortly.

According to Rajni Dangi, Mayor, UMC, provision of Rs.100cr was made in last budget session but in absence of any clear instructions from higher authorities the amount was kept reserved under the head.

Rajni Dangi further added that now, after having received instructions from District Collector to redirect sewerage lines, tenders for the same would be announced soon so that work for cleaning of river may be sped up.
