COVID Alert across Rajasthan - Government announces statewide lockdown from 6pm to 6am till 30 April

The second wave of the COVID pandemic has hit the country and the state with a much larger impact than the first wave. Cases have risen exponentially and the death rate is also higher. 30% of the infection is in the rural areas of the state and 60% of the infection is among under the age of 45. People with a negative RTPCR report also have shown COVID symptoms.

Rajasthan Government has announced a statewide lockdown from 6pm till 6am till April 30, 2021. This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The second wave of the COVID pandemic has hit the country and the state with a much larger impact than the first wave. Cases have risen exponentially and the death rate is also higher. 30% of the infection is in the rural areas of the state and 60% of the infection is among under the age of 45. People with a negative RTPCR report also have shown COVID symptoms.

The restrictions and allowances are as follows:

  1. 6pm till 6am lockdown in all urban areas. All markets, offices and commercial complexes will close at 5pm till April 30 202
  2. Government offices (except for those offices related to COVID management and War Room) will close at 4pm.

Exceptions (no passes required):

  • Factories with 24 production units running
  • Factories with night shifts
  • IT companies
  • Chemists
  • Essential services and emergency services
  • Marriage functions
  • Health and medical facilities
  • Bus Stand, Railway stations and Airports
  • Goods and Transport agencies
  • Those permitted to operate with government permission
  1. Educational institutes and coaching units as well as libraries will remain closed.
  2. Schools holding examinations and tests for classes 10 and 12 will remain open.
  3. Nursing and Medical colleges will function as usual.
  4. Online and distance learning will be permitted.
  5. Marriage functions:
    1. Not more than 50 people will be permitted in marriage functions.           
    2. Information on marriage functions to be given through email to local administration.
    3. No Mask No Entry protocol to be followed at marriage functions.
    4. Thermal scanning, sanitizer and hand wash at entry points.
    5. Videography of the marriage function is mandatory.
    6. Those venues violating the above protocol shall be seized.
  6. Not more than 20 people permitted in funerals.
  7. No permission will be given for social, political, sporting, entertainment, education, cultural and religious gathering.
  8. Cinema halls, theaters, multiplex, entertainment parks to remain closed.
  9. Swimming pools, Gyms to remain closed.
  10. Regulations for Restaurants / Clubs:
    1. Operate with 50% capacity till 6pm.
    2. Alternate seating.
    3. Restaurant takeaway to function till 8pm.
    4. In-house services for guests permitte
  11. Offices to maintain all COVID protocol at premises and reduce the office staff to 50% ; Work From Home to be exercised, screening and hygiene.
  12. Regulations for Shops and Trading establishments:
    1. No Mask – No Service posters to be put up and implemented.
    2. Shops not implementing the No Mask – No Service protocol will be sealed.
    3. Shopkeepers and staff to use face masks.
  13. Face Masks compulsory at public places.
  14. No spitting in public areas.
  15. Maintain social distancing.
  16. Consumption of Alcohol and smoking, chewing tobacco, pan is forbidden at public places.
  17. RTPCR report compulsory while entering Rajasthan – 15 day quarantine otherwise.
  18. Markets in Rural areas to close by 8pm.
