In a move that will be celebrated by Udaipurites, City Administration has taken a decision to make Fathesagar Lake a Wi-Fi zone.  The project is estimated to be completed in two weeks’ time.

Ruckus Wireless, the company managing the project will setup Access Points on the Lakeside, which will provide speeds of upto 900 MBPS, which can be accessed smoothly by 500 users at any point of time. The range of each access point will be at least 2 kms.  With the initial successful deployment of Access Points, extra Access Points will be setup according to the number of users.

Sudarshan Bosupulli, Director, Ruckus Wireless inspected Fatehsagar yesterday and said, “The emphasis right now is to provide Wi-Fi facility on tourist destinations.  Later, different areas of the city will also be provided with Wi-Fi capability”.

An experiment has also been carried out initially in the Collectorate when the project of making the city Wi-Fi had gathered momentum.
