Dungarpur-8 killed,10 injured in a collision between a truck and jeep
As many as 8 people were killed and 10 others got injured in a collision between a truck and a cruiser jeep in Rajasthan's Dungarpur district on Sunday, said police. The accident occurred on Delhi-Mumbai national highway-48 near the Ratanpur border at around 2.30 pm.
Station House Officer Bicchiwara Madanlal said that it seems that the trucks brakes failed and it bumped into the cruiser from behind.
The senior police and administration officials, including District Collector Laxmi Narayan Mantri and Superintendent of Police Kundan Kanwaria, reached the spot and took the charge.
Sp Kundan Kawariya said " Three of the seven died were rushed to a hospital at Gujarat out of which one succumbed to his injury. Most of the deceased hails from Dungarpur while the identification of the others is still to be ascertain. The relatives of the victims have given a FIR and the investigation of the matter is underway".
