Medical student dies after falling into well
The body of an MBBS student of Udaipur’s Ravindra Nath Tagore Medical College was pulled out after the efforts of around an hour after he fell down in a well on Thursday afternoon while playing cricket at his hostel premises.

Panic prevailed at the boy’s hostel premises of RNT medical college on Thursday afternoon when the news spread there. A huge crowd including the College management, fellow students and police and administrative officers including Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari accumulated in the college.
The scene occurred when the victim 2nd semester student of MBBS Aman Jindal accidentally fell down in a well situated at college premises while playing cricket with other fellow students. The mishap occurred when Aman, who was running after the ball came closer to the covered well and suddenly the metal cover slipped open and he fell into it.
Some of the students who were playing along him also rushed towards the victim and jumped into the well to rescue Aman but they could not succeed. Later, a team of police including DySP Gopal Singh Bhati, SHO Hathipol Police station Rajesh Kumar and team went to the scene and launched a rescue operation with the help of professional divers. 2 fire tenders also joined in the effort and the diver Chotu Khan pulled out the body.
The deceased student was pulled out after an hour effort and shifted to mortuary, said the students present on the scene.
The parents of the deceased student were informed about the mishap and the postmortem will be conducted after they reach Udaipur.
His fellow students informed that he hails from Jindal Colony, Gulabbagh area of Dholpur district and was staying at the Boy’s hostel of RNT Medical College for his studies.
DySP Gopal Singh Bhatti said “Prima Facie it came in light that the mishap occurred while playing cricket at the hostel premises but the investigation is still on and the picture will get clear after the postmortem of the dead body.”
