Scrape Depot catches fire, no casualties

A heavy fire erupted today in the scrape depot in Pipli Chowk, Gariyawas. The fire was controlled after nearly an hour of rescue operation conducted by 4-5 fire fighting vehicles.

According to sources, prima facie the fire started due to possible short circuit but no official statement has been released by any authority.

The incident was reported late afternoon. The depot containing recycled garbage and scrape, gutted into flames.

Police and firefighters also faced agitation from the local residents who expressed their serious concerns over the scrape depot situated in the residential area. The locals said that, they have many times requested administration to remove the depot from the area due to possibility of such incidents.
