Under National Lake Conservation Project (NLCP), Udaipur Municipal Corporation is in the process of installing an additional boating jetty at the Lake Pichhola. Operation of the jetty will start after a meeting of City Level Monitoring Committee scheduled later this month.
According to the sources, this additional platform will be dedicated to the private hotels and another existing jetty will be under control of Municipal Corporation, henceforth which there will be a total two platforms at the Pal of Lake Pichhola.
As per the information shared by Mayor Rajni Dangi, further functionality of the platform will be discussed in a meeting with City Level Monitoring Committee, though it has been decided that one of the two platforms will be handed over to the star rated hotels and the pre-installed private platforms will be removed.
With the installation of additional platform natural beauty of the place will be destroyed, the area is already very congested especially in the tourist seasons when large number of people get down to the Pal side of the lake; moreover this will also create confusion and increase in water traffic on the lake side, said an elite dweller of City.
