District Administration is tightening its belts to make Udaipur listed under 100 Smart Cities of India. Banning plastic bags, making city wifi, cycling trail and many other development projects are already started to pull attention of Central Government for the upcoming mega project.
District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar is positive about the Smart City and also planning to hold a seminar with all service providers of different technical departments. “We want to make a Road Map in advance so that we could lead all other cities,” said Pednekar.
The official announcement of cities selected in the project is yet to come by Central Government who is intended to pump Rs.7000 Crores and every city among 100 selected will get Rs.7 Crore for the project.
District Collector said, “We want to see what are the challenges we could face and other loopholes so that we can tackle it entirely without any hurry.”
Collector informed, “A one day seminar will be divided among three sessions including Digital Udaipur, Smart Urban Management and Smart Habitat. The date and venue of the event will be announced shortly.”
