Collector visits UMC, Instructs Cleaning of Ayad should be done Soon
District Collector Vikas Bhale gave a surprise visit to Udaipur Municipal Council (UMC) today and inspected various departments. Along with that, he instructed the officials for the speedy completion of remaining procedures required for the announcement of tender notices to clean Ayad River.
District Collector Vikas Bhale gave a surprise visit to Udaipur Municipal Council (UMC) today and inspected various departments. Along with that, he instructed the officials for the speedy completion of remaining procedures required for the announcement of tender notices to clean Ayad River.
He also took note of the ongoing State Government Scheme ‘Prashasan Sheron Ke Sang’, in which he obtained information on the number of already allotted ‘pattas’ and asked for the reasons of pending allotment.
Sources informed that only a part of Ayad River would be cleaned by the Municipal Council. The river has a total length of around 27 Km till Udai Sagar Lake, but the part coming under city borders is nearly 9 km. This 9 km stretch would be cleaned by UMC. Cleaning will include removal of solid waste and unwanted plantation within the river bed.
Later, S.N Acharya, Commissioner UMC informed, “We have instructed respective departments for announcing tender notice for the contractors within a month’s time”.
