COVID19 Udaipur | Collector imposes prohibitory orders across 3 clusters in municipal area

Prohibitory orders under Section 144 in Kumawatpura - Surajpol; Bedwas - Pratapnagar and Bada Bhoiwada - Dhanmandi for 14 days

One COVID19 positive migrant case in Bedwas (Pratapnagar) on 13 June, one positive case in Kumawatpura (Surajpol) on 14 June and one case in Bada Bhoiwara (Dhanmandi) today have taken the total of positive cases in Udaipur to 604 as of close of day on 15 June.

These cases have resulted in the District Collector imposing prohibitory orders under Section 144 in the above areas.  The prohibitory orders will last till 28 June in Bedwas and Kumawatpura and till 29 June in Bada Bhoiwara, which is under Dhanmandi police station zone. Bada Bhoiwara was released from the earlier curfew on 30 May and another case on 15 June has invited the imposiing of prohibitory orders once again.

Around 30 clusters in the Udaipur municipal area and 5 in the rural belt are under prohibition.

Interestingly, where over the last 15 days, migrants were making up for almost all new positive cases, the ratio of migrants to locals over the last 6 days is 50%. Out of a total of 17 cases in the last 6 days, 8 are migrants and others are local residents.  The cause of concern on spread in the walled city area continues as 22 clusters in Ghantaghar, Dhanmandi and Surajpol police station are still under extended prohibtory orders till 26 June.

Per the orders, no movement in or out of the above clusters will be permitted. All shops and business establishments in the area will be shut and essential services like milk, vegetables and ration will be provided through authorised vendors in the area. Movement for medical reasons and procurement of medicines will be permitted in special cases.  Public gatherings will also be prohibited.
