The Dungarpur administration has imposed prohibitory orders across Aaspur tehsil in the district. Section 144 CrPc was imposed today after a clash between the people of two communities on Wednesday night. An angry mob torched a shop and three motorcycles at the Aaspur Bus Stand area.

Trouble began on Wednesday night after the relatives of a college girl first staged a protest after their girl was teased by a boy from the other community. As tensions escalated, markets in Aaspur were shut down. Protestors also set the shop of the accused boy's father on fire along with setting three motorcycles on fire.

The incident occured on Wednesday, when a girl from Bankhoda village was returning from college to her house. She was allegedly teased by a boy. The girl shared the incident with her relatives after which her relatives and people from her community went outside the house of the accused and staged a protest. The accused somehow fled the scene. The protestors beat up other relatives of the accused and also vandalised his house. Tensions also flared when rumours of religious places being vandalised began doing the rounds, which the Police confirmed to be false.

Upon getting the information of the incident, Station House Officer of Dowra police station Bhanu Pratap Singh along with his team rushed to the scene. Soon the Superintendent of Police Dungarpur, Kundan Kawariya and Additional SP Niranjan Charan also went to the area to take stock of the situation.

Heavy police force has been deployed in the area soon after the incident and a flag march was taken out by the police teams in the sensitive areas of the village.

Kawariya further said that FIRs were registered from both the sides and the investigation is ongoing.

Restrictions under Sec 144:

• No public meetings or processions without prior permission.
• No person should be seen with pistols, weapons, sharp-edged weapons, sticks etc in public.
• People of Sikh community will be allowed to keep the prescribed kirpan as per religious tradition.
• Ban will not apply to Border Security Force, Rajasthan Arms Police, Civil Police, Home Guards, Army and those state and central employees who have been authorized to carry weapons in connection with law and order.
• No person shall carry or use any explosive substance or encourage its use. Neither will there be unauthorized storage of explosive substance nor will it be carried in closed containers or glass bottles nor will it be used.
• No person shall raise provocative or objectionable slogans that hurt communal harmony, nor give any such speech or address, nor shall print, distribute or cause to be distributed any such pamphlet, poster or other type of material, nor Will make or cause to be made such propaganda through any amplifier, radio, tape recorder, loudspeaker, audio-video cassette or any other electronic equipment and will not abet anyone for such acts.
• No person shall throw stones, arson, dust or mud at moving vehicles, pedestrians or persons. No sound broadcasting equipment will be used without the prior permission of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Aspur. Permission for use of sound broadcasting device can be given by Sub Divisional Magistrate Aspur for the use of broadcasting device from 6 am to 10 pm.
• No person shall consume liquor in any public place, nor cause anyone else to consume it, nor incite anyone to consume liquor.
• No unauthorized person shall carry liquor in public places for any use other than personal use nor shall he abet anyone.
• Creation and dissemination of material that disturbs public peace and spreads hatred between communities through social media on mobile phones and other electronic devices will be completely prohibited.
• Disobeying the said order will be a punishable offense under Section 188 IPC from 11 pm on September 13 and will remain effective till further orders.
