Fish Aquarium Plan Dropped as Commissioner seeks Better Options

Besides the issue of Aquarium, many other developing subjects were talked about, including De-weeding machines, caretaking of Gardens and Sewerage system restructuring, etc. The meeting was held under the leadership of Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Divisional Commissioner with Vikas Bhale, District Collector, Rajni Dangi, Mayor and Roopkumar Khurana, UIT Chairman.

While talking about the proposed Fish Aquarium, Dr. Subodh Agarwal said that they have withdrawn the plan of constructing the aquarium after a series of discussions with concerned civic officials and has asked for better options in place of the Aquarium.

Dr. Subodh Agarwal also ordered the Municipal Corporation to take strict action against those who have installed advertisement hoardings illegally. He also asked to repair leaking sewage lines to stop pollution in lakes.

On the topic of De-weeding Machine, B.L Kothari, NLCP Team leader has said that the machine will be available by December 2013 as all procedures of buying, operating and caretaking of the machine are done.

Informing about the development of Sewerage Plan, Dr. R.P Sharma, UIT secretary said that the work has been started and to obtain 0.3500 hectare land for pumping station at Haridas Ji Ki Magri area, a proposal has already been sent to the State Government. The work of track line has also started.

Beautification and renovation of gardens will be responsibility of Municipal Corporation. Mayor Rajni Dangi expressed her concern to renovate the places adjoining the lakes.

The Divisional Commissioner has given ten days deadline to finish all the pending small works under NLCP.
