Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) proposal of making Lakecity Hoarding Free is stuck into departmental formalities. The proposal was passed in a board meeting held in year 2012, since then officials are busy collecting required documents for the proposal.
In year 2012, UMC during its second board meeting passed a project of removing Hoarding across city. The official reaction immediately identified both illegal and legal hoardings around city areas.
The officials thereafter took written notes from respective owners to remove hoarding in next seven days, but unfortunately owners had called for stay on the project meanwhile.
At present, the case is pending with High Court and during stay, ordered to keep hoardings as it is. The owners over court ruling are generating business by displaying high paid ads on these hoardings, while UMC is still busy in collecting required documents.
UMC’s advocate for the case recently visited revenue department to collect required files for next hearing, but returned empty handed as files are still incomplete.
Rajni Dangi, Mayor, UMC, informed that the files have completed with due formalities, and will be handed over to advocate for further action.
Sources informed that there are in total 36 illegal hoardings around city, case of which is pending with High Court. In present Udaipur has more than 200 hoardings scattered in various localities, but Municipal Corporation is not taking any action against them after giving an excuse of High Court Stay.
In couple of months, assembly of local bodies would be dissolved for elections and the hoarding free city will become a dream for Lakecity.
