Number of decisions taken in UMC’s final board meeting (2009-14)

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) organized its last board meeting for session 2009-14 today. The meeting was presided over by Mayor Rajni Dangi and MLA Gulab Chand Kataria.

 

Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) organized its last board meeting for session 2009-14 today.  The meeting was presided over by Mayor Rajni Dangi and MLA Gulab Chand Kataria.

Key decisions in the board meeting included awarding of Rs.1 lac to Apurvi (Gold Medalist, Commonwealth Games 2014), facilitation of 8 new city buses on various routes in the city, revision of budgets for existing projects and revision of residential construction by-laws amongst other decisions.

Mayor Rajni Dangi took approval for providing a bus to Residency School since the demand has been pending since past few months.

UMC also decided to pay Rs.1500 for performing final rights of unclaimed dead bodies. This amount will be transferred to various communities as and when demanded.

Board also approved recently revised residential construction by-law, as announced by State Government. The corporators collectively raised voice against illegal construction and commercial use of underground parking at newly constructed complexes. The rate of penalty for the same was revised during the meeting along with guidelines.

Rates were also revised for all community centers falling under various various categories. The board members complained that numbers of community centers have been illegally taken over by individuals, while some have been abandoned in absence of proper maintenance.

Venue for this year’s Diwali Mela-2014 was kept unchanged but it was decided to reduce the number of rides and food stalls due to ongoing construction in the town hall compound.
