The Day of Protest Ends

The call for Udaipur Bandh by Bar Association and many other supporting groups was held today without any violence, while the high-level cabinet meeting was also concluded under tight security at RCA.

 

The call for Udaipur Bandh by Bar Association and many other supporting groups was held today without any violence, while the high-level cabinet meeting was also concluded under tight security at RCA.

The commercial sector of Udaipur, including educational organizations, banks, shops and offices remained closed.

Protest started early morning today at different places of the city where protestors burnt tyres, stopped traffic and even forcefully closed some banks. A large number of advocates also surrendered before police as part of the protest.

Five senior advocates including Ramesh Nandwana, Rao Ratan Singh, Gautamlal Siroya, Harsh Mehta, Shantilal Pamecha also met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje early morning today.

The meeting with CM ended without any solution. However, CM Raje assured to hold joint meeting with Law Minister and Law secretary with representatives of Bar Association, Udaipur on Wednesday at Jaipur.

Bharat Joshi, president of Bar Association said, “We are demanding High Court Bench in Udaipur from past 32 years and all the government does is, gives us assurance.”

Hundreds of advocates marched through Durga Nursery and tried to reach RCA but police prevented protestors to enter the restricted areas.

District collector Ashutosh Pednekar and S.P Ajaypal Singh Lamba (in photo above) controlled the protestors effectively.

Many local groups joined the protest with advocates including Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, Bar Association, Salumber and District Congress Committee.

Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh also conducted a rally and demonstrated near RCA against the policies of Government.

Aman Kumar Sood, State Minister of B.M.S said that they are protesting against polices of government, as Government wants to apply PPP system in the name of privatization of the various government departments.
