Udaipur Elevated Road Project Moves Forward
The foundation-laying ceremony of the two-lane elevated road to be built in Udaipur was performed on Monday, November 18.
A 2.7 km long elevated road will be built from the city railway station of Udaipur city to Banshi Paan in front of the collector's bungalow at Court Square. Udaipur Municipal Corporation had issued a tender of Rs 179.14 crore for the construction. The estimated cost in the DPR was Rs 208 crore. 12 agencies participated in the tender. The lowest quoted agency, Transrail Lighting Pvt Ltd, agreed to build it for Rs 136.89 crore.
In a program held at the Municipal Corporation, the foundation ceremony of Udaipur's ambitious elevated road project was done by Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria. Kataria said that more tourist points should be developed in the city so that the number of tourists will increase, adding to increased employment opportunities.
Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasiya, Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain, rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, BJP city district president Ravindra Shrimali, Mayor Govind Singh Tank were present in the program.
