Udaipur may soon have a train to South India

Minister Suresh Prabhu mentioned that the Centre is focusing on railways development in Rajasthan. As part of that he mentioned 3 projects specifically related to Udaipur

 

Minister Suresh Prabhu mentioned that the Centre is focusing on railways development in Rajasthan. As part of that he mentioned 3 projects specifically related to Udaipur.

Speaking at a ceremony at Jaipur Junction yesterday for inaugurating various facilities, Prabhu said that, “There is a need to invest in rail infrastructure in Rajasthan for pushing development. From 2009 to 2014, annually Rs 682 crore were invested by the Centre in the state which was increased to 1960 crore in last two years and further increased in the budget this year”.

On the occasion, he gave an assurance to the state government on three key initiatives related to Udaipur: a) Extension of Haridwar-Ajmer train to Udaipur b) setting up a container depot in Udaipur and c) train from Udaipur to South India.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and State Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria were also present on the occasion.
