UNLOCK 3 | Considering opening Gyms and Cinema halls with curbs, Schools to remain closed
Unlock 3 is set to witness the opening up of Cinema halls and gymnasiums after request towards the same has been received at various state levels. The request has been forwarded to the Union Home Ministry and a decision is expected in the next few days.
Several restrictions are being defined to be in place as the government considers these requests towards re-opening of cinema halls and gyms across the country as a part of the next phase of COVID unlock set to begin from 1 August.
The association of cinema halls has recommended to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that cinema halls be permitted to operate with maximum 30% capacity.
Gyms may also be allowed to function with many restrictions.
The Gym association of Udaipur, in the meanwhile held a press conference on Sunday, 26 July, where they presented their dilemma to the administration and government. There are 125 gyms in Udaipur and over a 1000 people are employed across these gyms.
Addressing media at Five Town Gym, Pawan Sukhwal, the President of the Udaipur Gym Association said that the gym operators and trainers have now begun to face problems with their daily lives. Gym owners added that ongoing expenses – utility bills, staff salary and machinery upkeep have added to their dilemma on whether to shut down their operations.
He added that the association has requested the government to give them a moratorium on rent and taxes for up to two months after the opening of their gyms to get back on their feet.
