On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, 26 couples of the Sindhi community of Udaipur were tied in wedlock today in the 16
th Samuhik Vivah organized by Jhulelal Seva Samiti at Nandan Vatika, Oriental Palace Hotel.
Around 10,000 people attended the marriage rituals which went on the whole day including lunch, with a mass reception and gala dinner in the evening. The Barat procession was welcomed at 3pm and the wedding ceremony took place between 3pm to 5pm. The celebrations concluded with a grand reception in the evening at Nandan Vatika.
The organizers of the event, Julelal Seva Samiti, arranged a huge 52,000 square feet set of Julelal City at the Nandan Vatika for today’s occasion. The set decorated with lights and colorful linen had different sections for the Dining area, Wedding Reception, Wedding Ceremony, enquiry area, etc. All expenses were carried out by the Samiti itself.
All newlywed couples were gifted with a cash amount of Rs. 25,000 by the organizing committee. Sant Mohan Das Thakur from Nagpur, Maharaj Sant Kumar Swaroopdas, Roopkumar Khurana (Chairman UIT) and Bhanu Kumar (Former President of Khadi Gram Udhyog Board) were also present to bless the newly married couples. Officers and workers including 26 youth committees, 5 women committees and 8 major panchayats of Sindhi community coordinated to make the event successful.
