Foreign Students visit Marble Slurry Dumping Yard

Kristine Marshal and Amanda from New York University and Adeline from Brook University studied about the chemical flowing, illegal mining of adjacent hills, soil made barriers and the stretched area of slurry located at Chitrakut Nagar, Udaipur.

 

Marble slurry dumping yard at Chitrakut Nagar is dismay and such unsafe dumping yard close to the city which also blocks water flow is an environmental and political issue. It is badly affecting health and natural habitat.

This conclusion has been drawn by American research students after analyzing various factors about the yard. The researchers visited the dumping yard on 13 Oct under the direction of Mohan Singh Mehta Memorial Trust and Foundation for Sustainable Development.

The researchers were informed about the present condition of dumping yard in relation to its environment, government regulations and water science aspects by Anil Mehta and Nand Kishore Sharma of MSMMT and Roma Bhardwaj of Foundation for Sustainable Development.

They said, “If such a thing happens in United States, there will be heavy fine but such miserable activities are going on here without any opposition or penalty.”
