After the immense success of the first ever cycle marathon held in Udaipur a few months back, the Harawal Cycle Marathon is back again to give momentum to the cycle fever in the city.

Haraval-2, the second Cycle Marathon, is scheduled on Sunday, 19th February from 7am. The rendezvous being Pichola Lake, it would be an approximately 30kms ride starting from Pichola Lake going around Samor Bagh, Jagdish Temple, Swaroop Sagar, Fateh Sagar, Shilpgram, Badi, Rampura Circle, Sisarma and back to Pichola Lake.

Manish Kataria, one of the organizers, said “The response to the last race was great. As per the feedback we had from participants of the last marathon, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to come back to cycles and such events should be regular.”

The registration cost for the marathon is Rs. 50 per person and the registration will be accepted only from the first 200 applicants. The first 100 applicants will be gifted with a T-shirt and a cap and for the participants there will be a post marathon organic snacks party at Pichola Lake.

“This not a race, rather it’s a run for clean air in Udaipur. The craze for automobiles is growing in the younger generation, which is increasing the pollution levels of the city. We want to spread a message on how important it is to save our environment. We have invited all the schools and colleges to participate in the marathon” said Mainsh Jain, founder of Shikshantar.

For those who do not possess a bicycle but still wishe to participate, organizers are equipped to arrange up to 50 cycles provided they are informed on a prior notice.

For registration, Manish can be contacted on +91-9413024906 and Rahul Karanpuria on +91-8947031231.
