21 October is celebrated as Police Martyr’s Day and on this occasion a Condolence Parade was organized at Police Line in the morning. Homage was paid to all those who laid down their lives in the last one year while fulfilling their duty.

 

21 October is celebrated as Police Martyr’s Day and on this occasion a Condolence Parade was organized at Police Line in the morning. Homage was paid to all those who laid down their lives in the last one year while fulfilling their duty.

Govind Gupta ( in photo above), Inspector General of Police Udaipur Range addressed the parade after inspection and then all those police personnel who died on duty from 1 Sept. 2010 to 31 Aug. 2011 were remembered.

Superintendent of Police, Alok Vashistha; DIG, Central Jail, Nisar Ahmed and other police officials including the retired officers paid floral tribute to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak which has been constructed at Police Line Parade Ground.

21 Oct is celebrated as Police Martyr’s Day every year in the memory of those 20 soldiers of CRPF who were on duty near Ladakh under the command of Karam Singh. The troop was attacked by Chinese army in which 10 soldiers died and others were taken captives. This day is celebrated to pay tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives while doing their duty.
