UMC's Drive Against Filth; Restaurant Penalised

Eating place at Rada Ji Circle fined by Municipal Corporation for unhygienic environment, has to pay Rs 9,000 as penalty

 

Udaipur, December 19, 2024 - In its continuous drive to maintain cleanliness in the city, in eating places and around the city, the Health Division of Udaipur Municipal Corporation yesterday took action against a restaurant owner for non-cleanliness and imposed a fine of Rs 9,000. The owner has also been issued strict instructions to comply with regulations going forward.

Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash said that measures are being taken to improve cleanliness in the city. First the Municipal officers have attempted to educate people and make them aware of measures to maintain hygiene. Following this strict actions are being taken.

An eating place at Rada Ji Circle was found to be spreading garbage around the premises. The restaurant did not even have a sewerage connection. Oil and waste were being disposed of in an open space. The restaurant also lacked proper exhaust thereby causing inconvenience to nearby residents and pedestrians.

Municipal Health Officer Satyanarayan Sharma said that the restaurant owner had earlier been warned by the Municipality but it was ignored.
