Special Foundation Awards Declared
12 people of the state will be honored for their dedication and commitment in their particular fields of expertise in the 31st Maharana Mewar Foundation Award Ceremony to be held on 26 February 2012. Shreeji Arvind Singh Mewar, Founder and Custodian of Maharana Mewar Foundation will honor these personalities at The City Palace Campus. Shreeji Arvind Singh Mewar, Founder and Custodian of Maharana Mewar Foundation will honor these personalities at The City Palace Campus. Dr. Mayank Gupta, Coordinator of the foundation award has given the detailed information below.
For contributing and developing Social, Economical, Educational and Moral Values, the honor of ‘Maharana Mewar Award’ will be given to Aruna Singhania Dalmia for her contribution as a social worker in various rural areas of India where she helped destitute and physically disabled people through her NGO Akshay Prathisthan. Aruna Singhania is the daughter of Sir Padmapat Singhania.
‘Mahrishi Harit Rashi Samman’, for prominent work in Astrology and Vedas will be given to Pandit Ramesh Bhojraj Dwivedi from Jodhpur and Dr. Veernarayan N.K. Pandurangi from Jaipur.
‘Maharana Kumbha Samman’, is dedicated to people who have contributed in Indian tradition, literature and history. Historian Rajendra Shankar Bhatt from Jaipur will be honored for his work on Mewar History. While professor Dr. Nandkishore Acharya from IIT Hyderabad who belongs to Bikaner will be honored for his work on Hindi and English literature.
Gopal Saini from Jaipur will be honored by ‘Maharana Sajjan Singh Samman’ for his contribution in handicraft, specially the art of painting on blue pottery tiles.
‘Dagar Gharana Samman’ is an honor given in the field of musicand this it will be awarded to Pandit Chiranjilal Tanwar and K.C Malu. Pandit Chiranjilal Tanwar is a vocal artist ideal in various forms of classical music including taal-trital, rupak etc. K.C Malu is a founder of Sursangam, an institution dedicated to traditional and folk music. Malu also owns Veena Cassettes.
Mashrulal Kher will be honored with ‘Rana Punja Samman’ for developing tribal areas; he had worked on several projects in the remote and tribal areas of Kotra.
‘Aravali Samman’ will be given to Deepa Malik from Jaipur who with her positive thinking, mental strength and courage has fought with her physical disabilities. She is paraplegic and suffering from tumor in spinal cord. Deepa has won many national and international awards in javelin throw, shot-put, discus throw.Ashok Menaria, cricketer from Udaipur will also be honored by Aravali Samman for his marvelous contribution in international cricket.
