Spreading Solidarity: Military Veterans Run
Hundreds of people including military veterans, their family members, army jawans and city’s locals gathered to take part in a friendly run “For Healthy Heart Healthy Nation” organized by Udaipur Mandal Ex-services league and Military Station, Eklingarh.

The most aged retired Colonel Ravishankar had flag off the rally at 6:30am from PP Singhal Marg which was concluded at the same place followed by breakfast. Around 50 jawans from Eklingarh Military Camp also joined the run.
Brig. Dr. C.P Joshi President UMESL said, “Retired army man is an important part of Indian Armed Force. There are around 50 lakh defense pensioners who are connected with defense service of 11 lakh, combining their family members the number goes to 5 crore and if include their friends and relatives then 15 crore people are attached with their thoughts and health.”
He said “it is a duty of this nation to take care of this high number of population. The issue of salary, wages and pensions of retired service men should be solved soon.”
“It is a responsibility of government to take care of army man’s family while he guards the country’s border. It is also government’s responsibility to ensure all basic need of army man when he retires from service. But it would be a misfortune for nation if a soldier beg for his rights.” Express retired Brig.Dr. CP Joshi.
In order to solve these problems, a pension adalat is set to be held in December this year in Udaipur where high officials from Ministry of Defense and officers of related department will come and solve every issue on the spot.
Brig.Dr. CP Joshi (retired) said that “we hope this will benefit our veterans of Rajasthan, we are expecting 3 to 4 thousand people to join this conference which is going to held in Udaipur after 10 years.
