The city has a lot to offer. You never feel out of place. But if you wish to be on your own, explore and still be at peace, I am sharing some views here. You can eat, relax and be safe…alone.

Samor bag to Jagdish chowk to Gangaur ghat to chandpole … my eyeballs actually start popping out when I see lots and lots of eating joints which I didn’t know about . And I have also come to know that these joints provide anything and everything … Indian, Chinese, Continental, Italian, a vast  variety of coffee, lake side restaurants to roof top restaurants and many names that haven’t been heard of by the localites here. Well, that is understandable as most of these restaurants cater to tourists and it is not possible for the local people to gather here because of narrow lanes and there is not much possibility of reaching here by means of four wheelers. Parking is obviously one of the biggest problems in the city.

But to talk of food, these eating joints have wonderful coffee and bakery items as well. There is also South Indian food and Punjabi, too. With a great number of roof top restaurants coming up, these areas offer a good lake view which can be enticing in the evenings. With the sunset view, sitting by the lake doing nothing seems to be the most refreshing moment(well, if you are hungry, do eat as that might make you feel even better…munching while the sun goes down is definitely some kind of upliftment for those who seek solitude in a beautiful way).

Also the walk way bridge at chandpole can be a good choice for those who want to be by themselves. This is the only bridge in the city where vehicles are not allowed, so you can really stand there facing the lake, watching waves go up and down with your mood and ultimately feel refreshed as the sun goes down. (Be there to watch the sunset as the reflection in the lake is amazing).

In case you wish to read in peace, we have the most beautiful gangaur ghat and also the Jagdish temple has a fleet of steps where no will disturb you. In any case, the temple premises give a fantastic feeling of peace. With a lot many restaurants by the lake side, you can go and have coffee while your head is still immersed in the book only to be lifted up with the sound of water hitting the boundary. You can also carry your guitar or harmonica, maybe, to sing to your soul or string the soul with nature.

All this because sometimes we feel the need to be by ourselves and it may not be possible to move out for a long drive or out of the city for whatever reasons. Though Fatehsagar lake comes as a choice to many people, the place is too crowded to offer those much wanted moments of peace.

Try something in the deeper parts of the city which offer more than you could have ever imagined. No one is stopping you. The city is yours , so go ahead and feel one with it.
