Media - We expect the Truth, Ensure Humanity will honour you…

By Abida Muhib

Each Morning,

The Doorbell brings the awaited Newspapers

Daily Tea Cup plunges into,

The Virtual News that Media Caters

Ignorant Audience everywhere,

Curious for facts and reality,

Have wishful thoughts and hope…

That Media serves Truth and Authenticity.

Oblivious of Professional Ethics

What of your Pledge and Duty,

Employed to Picturize the Society,

Now engaged in Bootlicking the Mighty

Each Day you Stoop Down

Day and Night Yell and Scream,

Burying your Guilt, with no Remorse,

Stress It’s Red, Even if it is Green

Honesty may turn you a Pauper

Dare to be Direct, May Defame you…

Your Constant hold to credibility,

Ensure Humanity will honour you…

Be Fair, Don’t Mimic

Born Human, don’t be a Parrot

Stop Tampering, No More Morphing

Riding on a Bluffing Chariot

There are millions who blindly trust you,

Don’t Manipulate those momentary gains

When you turn your friends to foe,

Heart and Soul Unimaginably Pains

Rise before its too late,

Unveil the Truth, Rid yourself or Pressure

Bind the Globe with Love, Not Poison,

Above all Differences, Truthfulness is a Treasure.

Exaggeration or Sensationalisation?

How I forward, Not knowing the base,

Unless Media Serves the Truth on its platter,

Oh My fingers, they will pause, not Race.
