Everyone turned their backs on me,

Not even a single soul that I could see.

It was just a matter of time that I realized,

None of these people came in my life to give happiness.

They came to share.

And when I was in despair,

They had just vanished.

But then came a friend long lost,

All that was between us were broken ties.

Never did I think that she would be the one to help me get through,

A relation that once we both used to despise,

Was the only one that stayed with me forever.

Now that I look back,

It doesn’t seem so bad

For I got to know who were the people truly there for me.

What a beautiful friendship we have,

That even now when I am taking my last breath,

She is here, being my strength.
