Udaipur, December 23, 2024 - Chairman of the Udaipur Urban Co-operative Bank Limited (UUCB), Tauseef Hussain has been selected for the Best Chairman Performance Award for Co-operative Bank Development by the All India Business Development Association. He was felicitated on December 20 in the national seminar and award ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi.

The UUCB is the only co-operative bank in the country’s urban banking sector to be given this award. This recognition is given for an “individual contribution for national economic and social development”. This prestigious award has come after a very long time to a co-operative bank chairman from Rajasthan and has brought fame not only to Udaipur but to the entire State.

The chief guest of the ceremony former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Union Minister Harish Rawat, the High Commissioner of Oman and Vice Chancellor of the Gulf Council Trade Commissioner plus Advisor to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Professor KS Rana presented Hussain with a medal while Dr VB Soni, Ambassador to many countries, honoured him with a Certificate of Excellence.

On this occasion, Padma Shri Dr Jitendra Singh Shanti (president, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Seva Dal), Haripal Rawat, Joint Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, Assam, PC Nailwal, Public Relations Officer of the Uttarakhand Chief Minister, and Dr RD Patidar, Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal University, were also present.

Hussain, who has been Vice-Chairman on the previous Board of Directors, says that this achievement is not his solely but also that of the visionary founders who established the UUCB. He thanked all members and customers who have trusted the bank for decades and supported its every activity. Additionally, he credited all the former and current Board of Directors who have guided the bank towards its progress. The Chairman also expressed his gratitude to each staff member whose hard work and dedication made this possible.

Hussain is not only the Chairman of UUCB but also a member of the Board of Directors of the Rajasthan Urban Cooperative Bank Federation Limited.

Samina Banu Mehmuda , CEO of UUCB, shared that the bank was recently honoured at the Multi-State Cooperative Bank Summit in Jaipur for conducting business worth more than Rs 500 crores for over five consecutive years. The UUCB has been providing high-quality banking services in Udaipur for the past 50 years, offering services comparable to private and government banks, she added. The bank operates 13 branches, including in Udaipur city, Kankroli, Rajsamand, Salumber and Fatehnagar.
