Measure Sound Levels in Mines using PEPL Electronic Ear
Electronic Ear System is a sound system used for measuring sound generated in the grinding process. It is primarily used in the coal level measuring application in the tube mill. Coal level is monitored through noise level monitoring of the mill.

Pyrotech Electronic Ear consists of three units, viz. sound sensor, transmitter and mounting stand. The Sensor type PI213 is a Magnetic sensor, which is using the Mill shell as membrane. This means the Sensor is only detecting the Mill Shell vibrations, caused by the grinding balls hitting the Mill Lining and material in the Mill. The system is insensitive to foreign acoustic noise from other Mills in the surroundings.
