State Hikes Royalty Rates on Minor Minerals by up to 30%

Royalty on minor minerals revised for the first time since 2021; hike may affect public and construction sector directly

July 25, 2025 - The Rajasthan State Government has increased royalty rates on minor minerals by 10-30% per ton, impacting materials like building stone, gravel and other construction minerals. These rates have been revised after a gap of four years — the last revision was in 2021. The hike will directly affect the general public, as prices of construction materials are expected to rise.

As per regulations, royalty rates can only be revised once every three years. The State Mining department had recently submitted a proposal to the government for the increase, which has now been approved and a notification was issued on Thursday July 24.
