Eid-Ul-Fitr is celebrated after the fasting month of Ramzan. (the ninth month of the Muslim year), on the first day of the Shavval month of the Hijri year (Muslim year).
“Eid” in Arabic means “festivity”, while “Fitr” means “purify”. A very significant side of Eid is charity, which all Muslims are anticipated to extend to the needy. Earlier this was in form of kind but now cash is given.
Prior celebrating Eid (Eid-Ul-Fitr) muslims go for morning prayers (Khutbah). In Udaipur, men into crisp new clothes happily trudged to the mosques for Khutbah. Khutbah was read in moiyudpura , vajirpura, rasulpura, kaziwada and all other community mosques with devotion. Multitudes assembled together and raise their hands to the heavens in a ceremony of unparalleled organization, discipline and equality.
Khutbah is primary occasion for public sermonize in the Islamic convention. In Khutbah, they thanked God for serene and piously spent month and also for the blessings held upon them for there prayers and good work. After the prayer, people embraced and greeted each other with ‘Eid Mubarak’ or ‘Happy Eid’.
After prayer, Muslims will now visit each others place to wish “Eid Mubark” or Happy Eid to family members and friends. People of same age “Hug” themselves, whereas young ones kiss there elder’s hand and for that they receive EIDI (blessing).
Muslims without caring about past grievances and social differences “Hug” everyone known to him or her. They decorates there houses beautifully with curtains and tapestries bought prior to EID from overwhelming market and welcomes guest coming to there places with sweets like seviyan, sheerkhurma and lots of dry fruits.
On Eid, people staying away from there home town tries to reach home to celebrate Eid with their family. In Boharwadi, halts of sweets are increasing fervor of festivity while for young ones lots of charming small toys are adding fun in their celebrations
