3 People Arrested in Shankar Dangi's Murder

The murder of 25-year-old Shankar Lal Dangi s/o Meghraj Dangi resulted in a violent protest when a large number of members from the community gathered outside the alleged culprit’s house and demanded to perform the last rites of Shankar inside the house of Udailal Dangi, whose sons Bharat and Jagdish are prime suspects of the murder along with Praveen Dangi s/o Logar Dangi.

 

UPDATE:  With the help of information via interrogation of the suspects Bharat, Jagdish and Praveen; Police found the weapon used in crime at their Farmhouse in Lakhawli.

The murder of 25-year-old Shankar Lal Dangi s/o Meghraj Dangi resulted in a violent protest when a large number of members from the community gathered outside the alleged culprit’s house and demanded to perform the last rites of Shankar inside the house of Udailal Dangi, whose sons Bharat and Jagdish are prime suspects of the murder along with Praveen Dangi s/o Logar Dangi.

Shankar was allegedly stabbed to death on the night of 19th July near Vikas Vidya Mandir School, 100 ft Road, Shobhagpura.

Over hundreds of men and women ransacked Udailal Dangi’s house and kept the dead body in the corridor and started preparing to perform the last rites inside the house.

“We don’t want mautana or compensation; we just want justice and to teach the culprits a lesson,” said an agitated man while he was trying to break the police barricade and get into the house.

Addl.S.P. Tejraj Singh took the situation under control and after several rounds of talks, the family of the victim finally agreed to move out of Udailal’s house.

According to Sukher Police Station all the three suspects Bharat, Jagdish and Praveen have been arrested.

“They were caught from a farm house located at Lakhavali, the farm house is owned by Udailal Dangi,” said a police officer investigating the case.

As per the FIR, Shankar Lal Dangi was allegedly attacked and killed over a petty issue between Udailal’s and Meghraj’s families from the past few days.

The deceased, Shankar was the only son of Meghraj, and Shankar is survived by three daughters, wife and parents.

According to the neighbors, Shankar was a decent man and very much limited to his family and business; he owned a tent shop at Bhuvana.
