Bhilwara Police Apprehends Main Accused Behind the Bovine Remains Controversy in Bhilwara

 

Bhilwara, August 28, 2024: The Bhilwara Police has apprehended the main accused behind the Bovine remains controversy in Bhilwara on 25 August, which escalated to violence and vandalism in the textile town. Revealing the details, Bhilwara SP Rajan informed that the main accused, Bablu Shah a resident of Hussain Colony of Shastri Nagar in Bhilwara was behind the entire episode.

The Episode

Applicant Vinod Das Kamad reported at the Kotwali Police Station in Bhilwara, that at around 11.30pm, some unknown person had put the severed tail of a cow in front of the Veer Hanuman Temple, Hanuman Colony nearof Gandhisagar pond. In the report, the complainant alleged that this was done with the intention of disturbing the peace of the city and disturbing communal harmony. The incident resulted in unrest in many pockets of the city, so much that markets were closed to prevent damage and injury. The Police registered the complaint and started investigations. Looking into the seriousness of the case, Rajan Dushyant formed 8 special teams of all the city police stations and cyber cell and assigned different tasks to each team.

Dushyant said that 2 day video footage of more than 500 CCTV cameras around the area was collected and data of nearby mobile BTS was obtained and analyzed in detail. He said that a list of previously challaned accused who caused harm to cattle at the site of the incident and surrounding areas was prepared.

A route map of the accused's coming and going to the area of the incident was prepared from CCTV footage. Door to door investigations were conducted in the field to identify persons matching the accused's appearance in the area. Under traditional policing, information was collected from the informer system and information was obtained about persons with similar appearance as of the accused.

SP said that post detention and questioning based on technical facts, the accused, Bablu Shah accepted committing the crime. SP informed that 4 more suspects have also been taken into custody and their role in the crime is being investigated. Intensive and detailed investigation is going on against them.

The clothes worn by the main accused at the time of the incident and the knife used in committing the crime were also recovered by the police.
