Medical Student Arrested in NEET Paper Leak Case from Bhilwara
A medical student from Bhilwara, Rajasthan, has been arrested by the CBI in connection with the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case. This makes him the eighth MBBS student to be arrested so far. The student accused reportedly admitted to helping solve the NEET-UG question paper before the exam on May 5.
The accused was taken to Patna for questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Sandeep Kumar Bishnoi is a first-year student at Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia (RVRS) Medical College.
Following his confession, Bishnoi was formally arrested and appeared in a special court in Patna. The court has granted the CBI five days of custody to further investigate the case.
According to CBI sources, Bishnoi was part of a group that solved the NEET-UG paper in Hazaribag and Jharkhand. The paper was allegedly stolen from an NTA trunk by Pankaj Kumar, a civil engineer from NIT-Jamshedpur.
Previously, the CBI had arrested four MBBS students from AIIMS-Patna and a student from Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences. Additional arrests were made at Bharatpur Medical College in Rajasthan.
