A man has been arrested for allegedly beating his 8 year old daughter to death here at Mangalwad area of Chittorgarh district.

The incident occured on the night of 15 May, when the accused Surajmal Bheel a resident of Sangesra village of Chittorgarh beat his 8-yr old daughter Radha to death after her elder brother and she had a fight. Following the altercation, the elder brother of Radha complained to his father that she had not cleaned the utensils properly. The agitated father started thrashing the victim Radha and threw her on the ground after picking her up from her hair. The girl sustained severe fatal injuries on her head, leading to her death.

The Station House Officer of Mangalwad police station Ram Singh said, "We got the information of the incident on 16 May from the villagers, after which we went to the scene of crime and found that the deceased girl's body was lying on her house with severe injury on the neck and head. Her body was immediately shifted to the mortuary and an investigation of the matter has been initiated after registering a case against the accused under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC). During the investigation it was found that the minor girl was killed by her father. The accused has since been arrested and his interrogation is underway".

SHO Ram Singh further informed that the accused Surajmal, is a father of 4 kids and is a habitual offender. His wife also left him six months as he always had arguments with her.
