The body of the victim was given to her parents today after postmortem; they took it back to Ahmedabad.

College administration has clearly denied all the charges and said that we had immediately informed parents of the girl as soon as we came to know about the mishap.

It was a disturbing scene at mortuary today when parents of the victim girl came to take her body along with other family members. Mother of victim holds a position in a political party at Ahmedabad and they had only one daughter.

While addressing the media, the mother of girl said that her daughter was continuously harassed and insulted by her hostel warden and other girls.

When asked about the alleged affair with a boy, they said, “it is not true and college administration is making false story to save their faults.”

According to sources, the first year student from Ahmedabad was staying in a college hostel. She committed suicide by hanging after she was reprimanded by warden over her alleged affair with a boy.

Correction: This news has been revised to reflect the following correction:

Correction: Feb 23, 2013

A news published on 22 Feb about “College girl commits suicide boyfriend survives attempt” misstated that the boy also tried to commit suicide which was later corrected by the police that he did not attempted to end his life but fell unconscious after hearing about the death of his friend.

We apologies for the mistake.
